Contacts, Contacts List, Categories y Contacts Blacklist Menu

This section allows you to create, modify and delete contacts, lists, categories and blacklist. For a better experience when configuring the platform, it is recommended to create the Contact Lists, the Categories and then the Contacts.

Contacts List

Contacts lists allow grouping contacts for better identification and to share them with other users of the application. The lists can be Private or Public.

Private: private lists and the contacts that comprise it can only be viewed by the user who created them (owner).

Assign Contacts to List

SimmBook provides 2 ways to link or unlink Contactos to a list:

1- At the moment of create a new contacts, the system will allow us to indicate in which list it belongs.

2- The other option is through the button located within the available actions of each list. The difference with the first alternative is that from here you can add or remove Contacts in bulk. Through the selection we will indicate that we want to add the contact to the list.

.

Categoría de Contactos

The categories of Contacts are together with the Lists another form of grouping, their use is thought to complement the lists, but it can also be used independently. Suppose you create a list of Officials that contains all the employees of the company, and in turn you want to group the contacts by department, by creating the departments as categories, we would have a filter that is the list of Officials and another by department / category.

The use is direct. You can click on the + Create Category button to insert new records or click on the action buttons of each record to edit them, delete them or assign contacts to the list in bulk. There is a search box that allows you to search for any string or number.

Contacts

In SimmBook a contact is any person or company for which you wish to have a record of personal or contact information. The use is direct. You can click on the + Create Contact button to insert new records or click on the action buttons in each record to edit or delete them. There is a search box that allows you to search for any string or number.

The contacts are private and can only be modified, deleted or consulted by the user who created it. The only case in which a contact is visible to other SimmBook users is when it is linked to a Public Contacts List.

Most of the fields are self explanatory, such as name, address, etc. In the case of the Prefix, define which outgoing route must take asterisk to make the call to the contact number.

Hidden Contacts

The hidden contacts works the same as a blacklist, the telephone numbers entered in this field will not be displayed anywhere in the system. The use is direct. You can click on the + Create Hidden Contact button to insert new records or click on the action buttons in each record to edit or delete them. There is a search box that allows you to search for any string or number.

Tools

Within the tools menu we have two options: Contacts Import and Yealink Remote Phonebook.

Contacts Import

From an external file in format .Txt or .Csv. the tool allows you to create a contact or modify it if there is a record with the same name or the same company name.

When you click on the Select File button, it will show you a window to search for the txt or csv file to import. The first line of the file must already contain the first record you want to insert. The fields that the file must contain are: Full Name; Company; Business name; Phone 1; Phone 2; E-mail; Address; Location;

If any of the fields you do not want to complete must be left empty but respecting that all records have 8 defined values.

This is a sample file with the format that the file must have for a correct import:

Asterisk Manager Iinterface (AMI) Connection Failed

This issue is originate when SimmBook tries to establish the connection with Asterisk Manager Interface.

To solve the problem it is necessary verify if in the manager.conf file located in /etc/asterisk/ (in installations based on Issabel, it is possible that the file is called manager_custom.conf instead of manager.conf), it was added the line #include manager_custom_simmline.conf, if it is not found add it to the end of the file.

Next check if the manager_custom_simmline.conf file was created, in the /etc/asterisk/ directory. If it does not exist, create it by adding the data described below that define the name, password and the permissions that the AMI user will have.

In /etc/asterisk/ directory add a new file with the name manager_custom_simmline.conf and add the following information. If the file exists, check if the information in it matches the detailed information.

[simmline]
secret = simmLine1763
deny= 0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0
permit =127.0.0.1/255.255.255.0
read = all
write = all
writetimeout = 1000

After editing file it is necessary to Restart Asterisk Module so that the changes take effect, executing the command from the linux console asterisk -rx ‘module reload manager’.

If the user was created or modified correctly, a message similar to the one shown in the image below will be displayed.

Personalize User or Password of Asterisk Manager Iinterface (AMI)

If you wish to configure an AMI user or password other than the one provided by default, you must follow the following steps in the order established without exception.

1 – Login as administrator to SimmBook, go to the menu option Configuration / General Parameters.

The values that can be modified are: host, user and password. Modify the desired values and confirm.

2 – Next, edit the manager_custom_simmline.conf file located on the Asterisk server in /etc/asterisk/ directory.

Enter new values, save changes and Restart Asterisk Module for changes take effect, executing the command from the linux console asterisk -rx ‘module reload manager’.

MySql Connection Failed

This faile originate when SimmBook tries to establish the connection with simmbook and asterisk database of SQL server. Possible causes are that there is no “simmbook” database, that the “simmline” user is not created on the SQL server or that it is created but does not have the necessary permissions to access the simmbook and asterisk database.

Verify SimmBook database

1 – On the computer where SimmBook was installed, enter the SQL server..
2 – Executing the show databases command, you must display a database with the name asterisk and another with the name simmbook.
3 – If the simmbook database is not displayed by executing the “create schema simmbook” command, you can create it.
4 – Finally, it is necessary to make a restore of the information, write us to support@simmline.com so that the .sql file that you should raise is provided.

Verify user and permissions

1 – On the computer where SimmBook was installed, enter the SQL server with the simmline user and the SimmLine password
2 – Executing the show databases command, you must display a database with the name asterisk and another with the name simmbook

If the simmbook and asterisk databases are not displayed or if the entry with the user and password provided failed.

Login with root user on SQL server and execute the following sentences.

GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON simmbook.* TO “simmline”@”localhost” IDENTIFIED BY “SimmLine” WiTH GRANT OPTION;
GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON asterisk.* TO “simmline”@”localhost” IDENTIFIED BY “SimmLine” WiTH GRANT OPTION;

Consideraciones:

The current version of SimmBook does not allow the “simmbook” database to be installed on a different computer than the asterisk server
It is not possible to modify the user and password provided by a personalized one.
We are working to release a future version that allows you to install the application and its database on different computers.

ionCube PHP Loader

If SimmBook starts with an error similar to the one described in the image, it is caused by a difference between the version of PHP that is installed on the Asterisk server and the version in which SimmBook is protected (php 5.3).

To solve this, it is necessary to edit the file 00-ioncube.ini, located in the /etc/php.d/ directory, in it we will find a line equal to the one detailed below:

zend_extension=/usr/local/ioncubeloader/ioncube_loader_lin_5.3.so

The default version that is configured is 5.3, if a different version is running on the Asterisk server, modify this value to match the server and restart the Apache HTTP server running the command “service httpd restart” in the linux console ”

If you do not know which version of PHP is running on the server, you can execute the php -v command from the query to confirm that information.

SimmBook is a web aplication that allows to keep updated and organized all the corporate contacts in one place. Each user can organize and share the data of their contacts through public or private lists in a simple and effective way. It has a caller ID lookup source, for a better identification of the received calls and the possibility to initiate a call from the directory without the need to dial the telephone number.

System Requirements

The software consists of two components, a server-side component that runs on your Pbx and a web application that is served by your web server.

The server component is currently running on 64-bit versions of Centos / Fedora.

It is necessary that there is a solution based on Asterisk in operation in which the application is going to be installed and a system of queues configured at the PBX level. The current version of SimmBook can not be installed on another computer other than our Asterisk machine.

Server Requirements

Centos / Fedora 64 bits Linux Operationg System

PHP 5.1 or higer

MySQL Server 5 or higher, or MariaDB

Client Requirements

Web Browser (IE10 o above, Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Opera)

IMPORTANT:
All the systems of the SimmLine family require for its operation that the PBX where the software is installed, has access to the Internet or at least to the URL: https://simmlicenses.com/

Getting the software

You can free download the software from HERE. All SimmLine products have a trial version for 15 days, without any restriction.

It is also possible to download the SimmBook installer from the mail that is sent when purchasing the product or when activating the trial version, or if you prefer it directly from the console of your PBX by executing the following shell command:

wget https://simmlicenses.com/download/simmbook_installer_64bits

If your platform does not support the installer, please let us know, we will surely find an alternative so you can enjoy our products.

If you purchased a license or activated a SimmBook trial and did not receive an email, check the spam folder of your email application or contact us at the sales@simmline.com box.

Installation

Once the installer is downloaded, we must make sure that we have read and execute permissions on the file. We position ourselves in the directory where the installer was downloaded and execute the following shell command:

chmod +x simmbook_installer_64bits

Now you can start the installation by executing the following command directly from the console:

./simmbook_installer_64bits

After the installation to access SimmBook it is necessary to open a web browser and in the address bar enter http://your.server.ip/simmbook/

Configuración CIDLookup Source

To be able to use the CalerID Lookup Source, it is necessary to make some configurations at the PBX level, following are the steps to follow in order to configure FreePBX and Issabel that functionality.

FreePBX

Access as administrator to FreePBX, go to: Menu Admin/ CalerID Lookup Sources, and add a new CIDLookup Source with the data shown in the image below.

Click on the Edit button, select the Other tab and in the CID Lookup Source field select SimmBook.

This process must be done for all Inbound Routes in which you want to have the caller name identification.

This document describes the possible non-technical, or configuration issues that can cause systems to stop working.

Connection Error

The possible causes that cause this error are:

The Asterisk server where the system was installed does not have access to the Internet or the URL: https://simmlicenses.com/

The license server is temporarily out of service.

Scenario 1 if for security reasons you do not want to enable Pbx internet access, you only need to have access to the URL https://simmlicenses.com/, communication with the license server is encrypted and will only be used to connect to the licensing web services.

Scenario 2 Our license server is hosted on Amazon AWS and has redundancy against failures that guarantees availability of 99%, which translates into an almost nil probability that systems will stop operating due to a failure in the licensing platform.

Expired License

All products of the SimmLine family are sold under the modality of leasing, if the contracted plan comes to an end and the system is not renewed it will stop working. Each product is licensed independently, so the expiration of a contract does not affect the rest of the licenses that you have contracted.

To manage your licenses and renew your subscription you must access to www.simmlicenses.com.

When you start any of the products of the SimmLine family for the first time, you will be asked to enter the product activation key.

At the moment of activating the system you do not have an Activation Code, it is necessary that you register on our platform www.simmlicenses.com.

The activation process is very simple and intuitive, it is only necessary to enter the key obtained when activating the Trial or when Acquiring the license and clicking on the Activate button.

The possible failures that may arise when activating a product are:

1 – It originates when an invalid key is entered or it does not correspond to the same product. Verify in the body of the email that you received when acquiring the license, to which product the license corresponds and that it coincides with the one you are entering in the Activation Key field, the field is case sensitive. If the data you are entering is correct and the problem persists contact us in the box support@simmline.com.

2 – It originates when the key that is being entered appears in our records as Active, if you are migrating the server license or reinstalled the system, it is necessary do a License Revoke from the SimmLicenses platform. To do this you must perform the following steps:

Login to www.simmlicenses.com.

Go to Menu / My Licenses.

Select the license that you want to Revoke.

Click on the button .

Once the license revocation process has been completed, you can activate the new server without problems.

3 – This error can occur if the product was installed in a Linux distribution other than those currently approved by SimmLine for its products. See the technical requirements section in the Installation Manual of each product, in our WIKI.

Asterisk Manager Iinterface (AMI) Connection Failed

This issue is originate when SimmAgents tries to establish the connection with Asterisk Manager Interface.

[simmline]
secret = simmLine1763
deny= 0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0
permit =127.0.0.1/255.255.255.0
read = all
write = all
writetimeout = 1000

1 – Login as administrator to SimmAgents, go to the menu option Configuration / General Parameters.

This faile originate when SimmAgents tries to establish the connection with simmagents and asterisk database of SQL server. Possible causes are that there is no “simmagents” database, that the “simmline” user is not created on the SQL server or that it is created but does not have the necessary permissions to access the simmagents and asterisk database.

Verify SimmAgents database

1 – On the computer where SimmAgents was installed, enter the SQL server..
2 – Executing the show databases command, you must display a database with the name asterisk and another with the name simmagents.
3 – If the simmagents database is not displayed by executing the “create schema simmagents” command, you can create it.
4 – Finally, it is necessary to make a restore of the information, write us to support@simmline.com so that the .sql file that you should raise is provided.

Verify user and permissions

1 – On the computer where SimmAgents was installed, enter the SQL server with the simmline user and the SimmLine password
2 – Executing the show databases command, you must display a database with the name asterisk and another with the name simmagents

If the simmagents and asterisk databases are not displayed or if the entry with the user and password provided failed.

Login with root user on SQL server and execute the following sentences.

GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON simmagents.* TO “simmline”@”localhost” IDENTIFIED BY “SimmLine” WiTH GRANT OPTION;
GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON asterisk.* TO “simmline”@”localhost” IDENTIFIED BY “SimmLine” WiTH GRANT OPTION;

Consideraciones:

The current version of SimmAgents does not allow the “simmagents” database to be installed on a different computer than the asterisk server
It is not possible to modify the user and password provided by a personalized one.
We are working to release a future version that allows you to install the application and its database on different computers.

ionCube PHP Loader

If SimmAgents starts with an error similar to the one described in the image, it is caused by a difference between the version of PHP that is installed on the Asterisk server and the version in which SimmAgents is protected (php 5.3).

To solve this, it is necessary to edit the file 00-ioncube.ini, located in the /etc/php.d/ directory, in it we will find a line equal to the one detailed below:

zend_extension=/usr/local/ioncubeloader/ioncube_loader_lin_5.3.so

The default version that is configured is 5.3, if a different version is running on the Asterisk server, modify this value to match the server and restart the Apache HTTP server running the command ‘service httpd restart’ in the linux console ”

If you do not know which version of PHP is running on the server, you can execute the php -v command from the query to confirm that information.

What is SimmAgents and how does it work?

SimmAgents is a web aplication that allows the Call Center Agents to use a extension without exclusivity. Each Agent logs with its own user from the web interface of the system to receive calls or pause the user. Once it is finished, it is simply logged out so that the extension become available for another Agent or if he logs into another telephone, it is automatically disconnected from the original extension.

Dowload and installation

It is necessary that there is a solution based on Asterisk in operation in which the application is going to be installed and a system of queues configured at the PBX level. The current version of SimmAgents can not be installed on another computer other than our Asterisk machine. (see installation manual)

To download SimmBook installer click HERE. All SimmLine products have a trial version for 15 days, without any restriction.

Accessing SimmAgents

To access SimmAgents it is necessary to open a web browser and in the address bar enter http://your.server.ip/simmagents

The first time it is accessed, the product activation key will be requested. This key will be sent via email when purchase a license, or when activating the trial version.

Administrator Login

By default, SimmAgents provides an Administrator user that has access to all system features and whose credentials are: User: admin / Password: admin

For greater security, it is recommended to modify the password provided by default.

Main Panel Administrators

After successful login, you will be presented with the main panel window.

Users will be able to see on the left of the screen the options menu of the platform, and an overview of the current status of each agent. Possible states are: login, logout and paused, each state is represented by a box.

The users that have the permission enabled (“Access to Login, Logout, Pause and Unpause of agents”) can modify the status of the agents by clicking on the corresponding buttons.

LOGIN: when you click, you will be asked to enter in what extension the agent is logging in and in which queues.

Configuration Menu

From the configuration menu, users can configure the general parameters of the system and access the management of users and user profiles.

General Parameters

Once you select ‘General Parameters’, you will be presented with the Parameters Window, as shown below:

From the general parameters, users will be able to establish the company’s data, define a numbering range for the creation of agents and queues, and define the data for the connection with the Asterisk Manager Interface.

Most fields are self explanatory, such as name, address, etc.

The Language field, defines the language, the system will be displayed globally (for all system users). Currently it is available in three languages: Spanish, English and Portuguese.

Agents and Queue creation, when establishing a rank for the numbering of the agents and the queues respectively, the available numbers are being delimited, in this way it is sought to avoid that when creating an agent or a queue a number is entered by mistake that is being used in an extension or group of the PBX.

Show status of other Agents, if this option is selected, when the agents have logged in they can see the status of the other agents logged in SimmAgents, analogously if the option is not selected, the agents will be displayed but not the state of the agents. themselves

Asterisk data, by default when SimmAgents is installed an AMI user is created with the values shown in the fields, Host, User and Password. If you want to change the user of the Asterisk administrator interface, the password must be modified first and then follow the steps HERE for the creation of an Asterisk Manager Interface user.

User Profiles

It is a group of permissions that determines what access and actions each user can make within SimmAgents. Each user can belong to a group and each group can be shared by several users.

By default SimmAgents have created an Administrator User Profile that can not be deleted and that has access to all platform functionalities.

The use is direct. You can click on the + Create User Profile button to insert new records or click on the action buttons of each record to edit them, delete them or define the permissions. There is a search box that allows you to search for any string or number.

Permissions definition

User

Users are all people who need access to the system and who want to have a personalized record of the accesses and actions that can be done.

The use is direct. You can click on the + Create User button to insert new records or click on the action buttons in each record to edit or delete them. There is a search box that allows you to search for any string or number.

The administrator user, like the Administrator Profile, is created by default and can not be deleted.

The expiration field determines the period during a user will be active. Each time the user enters, the system will check if the user is within the determined period. In case of leaving the field blank, the user will not expire.

Agents, Queues and Pauses Menu

This section allows you to create, modify and delete agents, queues and pauses. For a better experience when configuring the platform, it is recommended to first create the queues and then the agents.

Queues

The queues must be created respecting the same numbering with which they were created in the PBX. The queues created in SimmAgents are not automatically created in the PBX, nor vice versa.

The use is direct. You can click on the + Create Queues button to insert new records or click on the action buttons in each record to edit them, delete them or assign agents to the queue in bulk. There is a search box that allows you to search for any string or number.

Assign Agents to a Queue

SimmAgents provides 2 ways to link or unlink an agent to a queue:

1- From the interface of creating an agent, at the moment of registering each agent, the system will allow us to indicate in which queues we can log.

Agents

The use is direct. You can click on the + Create Agent button to insert new records or click on the action buttons in each record to edit or delete them. There is a search box that allows you to search for any string or number.

For the creation of each agent, it is necessary to define a number (unique for each agent, and can not match any extension, group or queue of the PBX), a name, a key and in which queues it will register when it is logged on the platform.

Pauses

The use is direct. You can click on the + Create Pause button to insert new records or click on the action buttons in each record to edit or delete them. There is a search box that allows you to search for any string or number.

The pauses allows users to establish the reason why the user stopped being active for the queue in a certain period. When an agent goes into pause, incoming calls are no longer assigned by asterisk to that agent.

Reports

Activity by Agent report shows the activity of each agent, in a time period.

If one of the Login lines is analyzed, it can be observed: date and time of login, what queues were logged, and from what extension did it.

Tools

Within the tools menu we can access the Import of Agents from an external file in format .Txt or .Csv. The tool allows you to create an agent or modify it in case there is a record with the same number.

When you click on the Select File button, it will show you a window to search for the txt or csv file to import. The first line of the file must already contain the first record you want to insert. The fields that the file must contain are: Agent Number;Agent Name;Password;

This is a sample file with the format that the file must have for a correct import:

agentes.csv

Agents Access

The Agents login is done by selecting the agent and the extension where it is located at the time of login. The password is specific to each Agent and is defined during the creation of each agent.

The available extensions are taken from the PBX, and correspond to the telephones that are registered and active in the central. SimmAgents will make a call to the extension and will play an audio message indicating “Agent logged in”, thus confirming the correct login of the agent.

Main Panel Agents

After logging in correctly, you will be presented with the main panel window.

The dashboard is the panel of the agent with the main information of it: the name and number of the agent is displayed, to what extension it is logged, the state (which can be logged or paused), what queues are logged, the time of the log in and the possibility of pausing or logout agent.

On the right side of the screen, you can see which agents are logged in, in what extension and the current status of each one. If you do not want to show this from the agents, remember that by accessing the Administrators Menu, Configuration / Preferences, it is possible to modify the Show Status of other Agents property.

It is also possible to call the agent by clicking on the button located to the right of each agent.

Agent Activity

In addition to the Dashboard, agents can access the activity history, which indicates when they were logged in, the breaks made and the extensions where they were registered.

My Profile and LogOut

In the upper right corner of the window, the name of the agent is highlighted and the Profile can be accessed from where you can modify the access password to the platform or close the session, which in addition to closing the platform, disconnects the agent from the queue.

If you want to close the application but not logout the agent, you only have to close the browser tab corresponding to SimmAgents.

The current version of SimmAgents can not be installed on another computer other than our Asterisk machine.

It is also possible to download the SimmAgents installer from the mail that is sent when purchasing the product or when activating the trial version, or if you prefer it directly from the console of your PBX by executing the following shell command:

wget https://simmlicenses.com/download/simmagents_installer_64bits

If your platform does not support the installer, please let us know, we will surely find an alternative so you can enjoy our products.

If you purchased a license or activated a SimmAgents trial and did not receive an email, check the spam folder of your email application or contact us at the sales@simmline.com box.

Installation

Once the installer is downloaded, we must make sure that we have read and execute permissions on the file. We position ourselves in the directory where the installer was downloaded and execute the following shell command:

chmod +x simmagents_installer_64bits

Now you can start the installation by executing the following command directly from the console:

./simmagents_installer_64bits

After the installation to access SimmAgents it is necessary to open a web browser and in the address bar enter http://your.server.ip/simmagents/

Configuration Extensions_custom.conf

Before starting SimmAgents it is necessary to make some basic configuration in the file /etc/asterisk/extensions_custom.conf.

We must modify the file to include the extensions_custom_simmagents.conf file and the SimmAgents context, which stores the part of the system logic.

Edit the file and in the first line add the following text:

#include extensions_custom_simmagents.conf

Inside the macro [from-internal-custom] add the following line:

include => SimmAgents

In the case that the macro [from-internal-custom] is not created, it must be added before the line include => SimmAgents, being as follows.

[from-internal-custom]
include => SimmAgents

Once the change has been made, the only thing left is to execute the following command from the linux console: asterisk -rx ‘dialplan reload’

Configuration extensions_custom_simmagents.conf

This file contains the logic that allows the SimmAgents to determine which agent / extension should derive the received calls, it also enables the logging, loggout, pause and anpause functions from a telephone / extension, if you do not want to use the web interface provided by the system.

The file is inside /etc/asterisk/extension_custom_simmagents.conf and by default is configured for agents whose number is between 4000 and 4999.

How do we tell SimmAgents what numbering our agents will have ?, by defining a regular expression as indicated in line 4 of the image below.

The value entered within the straight parentheses [ ] determined with which digit the number of agents begins and the X a continuation the number of digits what shape the number. There are no restrictions on the numbering you want to use, you can create agents whose number is 3 digits [X] XX, 4 [X] XXX, 5 [X] XXXX or whatever suits the needs of the company.

If you have questions about which expression is appropriate, do not hesitate to contact us, we will gladly help you to set up your SimmAgents.

PBX Configuration

At the PBX level, we recommend configuring the Skip Busy Agents property in YES + (ringinuser = no) for each Queue that will be used with SimmAgents.

FreePBX

Once logged into FreePBX, we must go to: Applications Menu / Queues, edit the queues that will be used from SimmAgents and select the option YES + (ringinuser = no) in Skip Busy Agents property.

Accessing SimmAgents

After the installation and having made the configurations described above, we start a web browser and enter the address bar: http://your.server.ip/simmagents
